Jeff’s Music

For those that don’t know, I’m a piano guy. I’ve always loved it, and have been playing daily since my high school years. It’s a passion.
I also wrote and recorded a handful of songs years ago, and thought I’d share some of these unfinished works with you. More to come…
I’d love to know what you think. Leave a comment below and enjoy!
1. Jam Session – University of Scranton dorm room
One take. One mic. All improv and body language.
This is a recording with my buddy James (drums) in our dorm room at the University of Scranton. We managed to squeeze his full drum kit in the tiny room, along with my 88-key keyboard, huge amp – and a few beers.
2. Day by Day
This is a true story about a girl, a guy and their new baby that changed everything.
Words and music by Jeff Teschke
One girl in a tiny town, and a baby on the way
One bed in a one-horse town, and a minimum wage
Works in the local bar, where they call her by her name
Lookin’ back 20 years, and nothin’ has changed
Day by dayOne man in a tiny town, same baby on the way
No job and his room is cold, no electric bill to pay
Wakes up and drowns his fears, in the middle of the day
Lookin’ back 20 years, and nothin’ has changed
Day by dayOne day the baby is born
Like a ship that’s weatherin’ the storm
That day the beacon is the brightest that it’s been
AmenAmen…
You gotta believe, you gotta believe in
You gotta believe, you gotta believe in

3. Shade of Gray
A story about how arguing over the little things just isn’t worth it.
Words and music by Jeff Teschke
My favorite color is a shade of gray
There’s nothin’ wrong, just nothin’ to say
I’ve been right before, and wrong before
Right now I’m heading right out the doorMy favorite color is a shade of gray
Can barely say what is harder to say
What I’m fightin’ for, and dyin’ for
Right now, I don’t know what arguin’s forOn the porch in the pouring rain
In life we’re all insane
Arguing life on the streetLooking back on the words we said
Watchin’ the lights in the pourin’ rain
Where this ends is where this all began<< refrain >>
Far away in a foreign land
Downtown near the market stand
The wedding bells ring beneath the skyAnd through the cold dark cover of night
Walks a man downtown looking for the wife
Starin’ at himself in a moon lit bladeSometime, not long before
He left himself a note on the door
And, it said I don’t know anymore
And there’s nothin’ to say, there’s nothin’ to say<< refrain out >>
