If there’s one way to supercharge your marketing, it would be with ongoing content. Nothing beats sharing information and reaching out to your clients and customers on a regular schedule. How? Email. Don’t believe me? Read on and I’ll share some of our Forge3 website stats showing how effective email can be for generating traffic to your doorstep.

Our Publishing Routine

If you’re reading this article, you probably also received an email from me about it or clicked a link on social media somewhere. That’s because we follow this routine when posting new stuff to our website:

  1. Write an article about something interesting (not sure where to start? ask me in the comments and I’ll give you some tips)
  2. Post that article to our website
  3. Update Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn with a link to that article
  4. Send an email to the folks on our email subscriber list pointing to that article

The Numbers Don’t Lie

Do people actually click the links to read the articles? Absolutely! Here’s a screenshot of our website traffic for www.forge3.com. Guess when we sent the emails. It’s pretty clear, isn’t it? The point is that emailing your audience will DRIVE people to your website.

Why Do We Do This?

It’s really simple. We want to (a) share our brain with people to help them, and (b) engage with our audience. Business is all about relationships!

Of course, we’re also showing off a bit. Giving away free information like this shows that we know our stuff!

Does all of this “extra work” lead to sales for us? Absolutely. All the time. It works.

So, are you staying in touch with your audience? If not, ask yourself (or us) why.
